The Carol Marie is one of Chatham’s iconic fishing vessels, known for her frequent trips offshore and consistent hauls delivered to the Chatham Fish Pier. On busy summer days, her return often brings quite the caravan - seabirds follow closely behind as she makes her way in from the Chatham Bar, while seals gather around the boat hoping for a taste of the fresh catch. Above, visitors crowd the pier to watch the haul come in and take in the action. This photograph captures a classic scene from Chatham’s working waterfront and the lively summer tradition that surrounds the Carol Marie.
